The main point of my little story is that the AEM bypass valve is a waste of money. It can easily be replaced by some common sense.
Now here in San Antonio its been raining for about 3 days. I drive through rain all the time and im more worried about my sh!tty tires sliding me off the road than hydrolocking. Now for the past 2 days its been ordinary rain, ive had to swerve a few big puddles but nothing out of the norm. Today was something completely different, half the day you could see whats 10 ft in front of you due to the downpour. So i get off work around 830 ish and its not pouring, but the streets have felt the damage. I had to wade though ankle deep water just to get to my car since i had to park far as hell today. So i begin treacherous journey home which usually takes 10 min. and took 45 today. They closed off a freakin interstate. Anyways on one of the back streets i had to take to get home i ran into about six or eight 6 in. deep lakes i had to drive through to get home. So i have a aem cai and im dropped about 1.75". i was scared ****less. so i do what i always do and take my foot off the throttle and coast through each and every one of those deep ass puddles until im out of the water, and continue to accelerate. Even though the car was idling really strangely i managed to make it through the really deep water. And on the way out of one the last really big bodies of water i see and integra ls sitting right on the edge, not moving with the hazards on. i pull up next to him and ask if everything was ok. he said he stalled and i asked if the had cai. he said yeah, he sucked up some water. he tried to start it up, and it didnt sound like any internals were ruined, but it didnt turn over. i wished him luck and continued safely on my way home.
Sorry to rant but today was a ****ty day, and i came home soaking. But my good ol accord made it thru. Hope i dont get sick
Sorry to rant..had to vent.
Cliffs notes: drove though 6 inches of water in my dropped accord w/ cai and didnt hydrolock. bypass valve is a waste of money.:gives:
