And the part about the negative message depends on your point of view. If you grew up in the ghetto, live in the ghetto, it's not negative to you.
you're missing my point on whats negative and whats positive. If rap was more about rising above the stereotype, rising out of the gutter, and rising to new hights (which, yes,
some of it is), then that would be one thing. But thats not the case.
If anything it could be positive, by getting the message out of what life really is like in the inner city. People from suburbia think it's negative because they've never had to deal with any of that, they would rather just ignore it and not hear about it than try and do something about it.
but we already know whats up with the inner city. The black community has been showing us this for the past 20 years. Time to move on and rise above it all.
