you have intake on the turbo, cuz filtered air is compressed by compressor...without filter, you risk have pebbles/rocks entering your turbo and possibly ruining your seals/wheels/etc...basically, imagine you're running your car without air filter...that wouldn't be too cool now would it? 
mine is 5spd manual and i have not had any issues...i'm however preparing for clutch/flywheel upgrade sometime soon...

Cool thanks for the explenation, i was just wondering cause you dont see too many people with the intake, and with the oil feed to the turbo, so it seemed awkward to me. cool though.
