Most people will say the DC shifter is just as bad as the generic ones because they are aluminum. I think most problems w/ breakage have occured at the threads below the shift knob (Hondas use a small-ish 8mm thread for shift knobs). My shift knob attaches to the shift lever far below the threads w/ setscrews, where the lever itself is much thicker. I have raced with it (both drag and autox) and I've never had a single problem, ever. Here's a pic, the lever itself is exactly the same height as stock, but my shift knob sits about 2" lower than stock. Throw length is shorter than a stock Miata 6-speed shifter. :thumbup:
