Anyone have pictures of their support beams? (the beam that holds up the foam behind the front bumper)

I spent 3-4 hours isntalling my fog lights today (most of the time was spent cutting the bumper w/ weaksauce tools).. but after I finished I was putting the bumper back on my car and the support beam was impeading the placement of the fogs (the back of the fogs couldn't go into the beam).. I know the beam is important, so I'm going to probably have it modified to fit the fogs (cut the area around the fog lights out)

My car got in a front end accident before, so this might be why.. anyone have pics of their beams? Is it THAT important? I was thinking its only important to #1 protect in low-speed accidents.. and #2 prevent your bumper from sagging? Either way I'm going to keep it.. just wondering. Thanks!
