From what I can tell the automakers are trying to promote this low maintainance image for their cars these days, but they often fail to mention that those schedules are really for ideal driving conditions (purely highway)...

I changed the filter on my accord at 90K and it felt like it made a difference...but that was a 4cyl 5th gen....
