I have a generic short throw from AutoZone, and it has been nothing short of awesome for the nearly a year I've had it. IMHO what really makes the difference is the bearing in the bottom, along with the two included spacers, which allows you to tighten the throughbolt all the way withouth affecting effort required to move the shifter.

I have tried a B&M shifter in my friend's Civic and it did not feel as nice as mine. I have also heard of it having MANY problems with rattling. I also don't like the non-factory shape. Your shift knob will sit farther away from you if you use it.
