That's because you're not in your powerband. Next time look at your tachometer...VTEC engagement is at 3500 RPM, and the car has no balls below that. Second gear tops out at 72MPH, but above 62 or 63 the transmission downshifts to third, leaving you at about 3200 RPM. That results in lag. The same thing happens at around 32-38 MPH. Try taking her up to 55 or 70 and then punching it
