Right? Hmmmmm....interesting way of looking at that....its just that I WANT a four door sedan sooooo bad....I want out of this cramped little coupe!! Everyone I know has an SUV---and here I am with my little sports coupe; my girlfriend drives a Blazer, her friend she lives with, and her friend's fiance, who is my best friend ALL drive trucks---my friend is in a Trail Blazer, and his fiance is in a Pathfinder.
I have driven nothing but SUVs since '96 and just got this coupe. There is nothing at all I regret about getting a car. I have had: 95 4Runer, 96 Geo Tracker, 98 Tahoe Sport and 99 Land Cruiser (noice), and still, I am happiest with this car. I live in Rochester, NY where we got 10+ feet of snow this year. When I was telling my friend I was thinking about getting something like a Dodge Ram, he almost shot me. So I will say to you what he said to me...WHAT do you need an SUV for? They are the most useless of all vehicles. If you have a family, get an AWD minivan, if you need to haul stuff, get a pickup. If you don't fall into either of those categories, you should get a car. Then I started talking to him about 4/AWD and he asked me how often, living in rochester, I put my trucks into 4WD...and I thought about it....only to get up my driveway in 2 ft of snow. Keep in mind that all the aforementioned vehicles (save the land cruiser) were rear wheel drive when not in 4X4. Then there is gas milage to consider....Also, when you do need to haul something, you will save yourself so much money in gas, you could still pay a ton of money to rent a u-haul if you needed to and still come out ahead. And while we are on the subject of trucks....your friends chose the most horrid SUVs out. The Blazer/TrailBlazer are made like crap....I knew people with them ... at least 4 of 10 people I knew returned theirs under lemon laws. The Pathfinder (of old at least) is the weakest truck on the planet...sheesh. If you HAVE to get an SUV, at least get a Toyota or Honda......
