Cams can help to produce massive amounts of HP, but you have to get the right ones.

If you're swapping a stock LS motor and then putting racing cams in, you're not going to get all that you could out of the cams. Racing cams for that application would be way overkill imo.

Cams are very easy to install if you know how to replace a timing belt. I suggest you do it before you swap the motor cause it will be all that much easier.

Cams can go from ~$300 / set to thousands per set. You will also need to be sure to get the NON VTEC cams cause you're running a NON VTEC motor.

You don't have to, but it's highly recommended that you replace your springs and retainers when you do the cam, ESPECIALLY if you're going with a race cam.

Side effects: worse gas mileage, imperfect idle (racing cams), worn/broken springs/retainers
