I think it just depends- has your car been garaged a lot these past nine years, or if not, have yout aken really good care of the paint? Aside from that, I think the color of the paint makes a difference. I have the sort of teal-colored 1993 Accord, and I've recently taken off all the emblems and you can't really tell where they were, with one exception. Kind of "around" where the "Accord" and the "LX" badges were is a sort of dark grey line form where dirt and stuff built up there and couldn't be reached with a regular wash. On the other hand, almost all of that came off when I used a clay bar on the area and waxed it really well. It's not noticeable unless you're looking for it. Go ahead, or just peel off a little at the very front or at the very back where it's not obvious and see what it looks like. I think that chances are that it won't be too noticeable, especially if you clay it and wax it up real nice afterward.
