Ok, here's my dilemma. I'm 23, living at home, making good money. My girlfriend needs to buy a car, and offered to buy my civic from me for $9000. I've never had that legendary fun car that most men have at some point in their lives that they remember when they're old. I'm seriously considering selling her the civic, putting about 10-11k down on a 2003 WRX (since you can get them for cheap since the '04s are out). On the other hand, I could do the responsible thing and keep my Civic, do without the fun car, and save for a house. My civic is totally paid off, so any money I make that isn't already accounted for by bills could be put towards the house. My dad is kind of leaning toward me getting the WRX since financially I should be able to do it, and because this may be the only time in my life that I might be in a position to do something like this. On the other hand, my civic is a great car with only 30k miles on it, and will last me forever. What do you guys think? What would you do? Should I splurge on the car, or be responsible and save for the house???
