All that shit about the ls/vtec dieing in two years is bs. I went to put in c1 in my ls and the tuner shop told me about the ls/vtec conversion. It makes more hp and torque than the gsr when completed and it cost half the price of a new c1. Look at all the drag engines. Most are conversions. b20 or b18 block and a vtec head. I would recommend a gsr tranny though. It makes quite a bit of difference. w/ the new tranny it smokes a gsr. My ls/vtec sat for over a year b/c I was in Afganistan kicking ass and the conversion was about three years ago and I have never had a problem with it but gsr owners getting pissed b/c they got smoked.
