RS is the rally series base model. It has no sunroof and some features are options (power doors, and cruise control?).

LS is the luxury series, also a base model. Its got the sunroof, and all features are standard

GS/SE is a slightly upgraded model (same car, it was the SE until it changed its name to GS in 1997?) with leather seating and a rear spoiler.

The RS, LS and GS/SE all have the 140hp B18B1 1.8L engine. These have optional automatic or standard 5speed manual transmissions.

The GSR is basically a GS/SE with the 170hp B18C1 1.8L VTEC engine. It only comes in 5speed manual.

The Type R has an upgraded suspension, 5-lug wheels, spoiler, 195hp 1.8L B18C5 VTEC engine, with a close ratio 5-speed manual trans only.
