Default RIP Sols

as i read through many of these posts i notice that there are a lot of R.I.P del sols. this strikes me as fairly odd, since i myself had a RIP sol. it seems with the "limited" time/numbers this car was manufactured that the chances of colliding or being collided into would be slightly less than say, a civic or accord. i was wondering why??? is it that the car attracts young, inexperienced drivers? (i fell into this category at the time) or is it just dumbshmucks that want to run into the car? anyway, what i want to know is how did most of the RIP sols die? i made the most illegal left hand turn ever and ended up tango-ing with a coca-cola van. he won. i lost. not to fret, i bought another del sol...i was miserable without it. and the funny thing, this one's been crashed into as well! that wasn't my fault though. *whew* is the del sol cursed or is it just me?
