Actually, unless you have a roll bar or cage, harnesses are less safe than 3 pt seatbelts. If you get in a rollover, the 4pt will hold you perfectly in your seat so that your head can get squashed, and your neck broken, whereas a 3 pt allows you to bend in toward the center of the car.
