masks in general are function over form, most dont buy one for the looks..... My parents have a mask on their 2001 Camry, and its taken off every week and sprayed clean, so theres minimal debris rubbing the paint, as well as taken off when it rains.. I cant believe how many cars i see that their owners NEVER take the mask off, even when they wash their cars.... thats plain ignorance..... If you use and take care of it as its suppose to be, you shouldnt have any problems with the paint.
