Default shock adjustment

since there is no suspension forum in here, i will post this here

okay....after reading all these posts about people complaining that their ride is too bouncy, and what adjustment to adjust to. I need something cleared up. It was my understanding that if your ride right now is too bouncy, then you need some firmer shocks settings to compensate for a much stiffer spring. Therefore if someone complains that their shock (les say AGX) is at the setting 1(softest), and they complain that their ride is too bouncy, then shouldn't they stiffen the shock up? I ask this because i have read some people who may be misinforming and advise that the AGX is not good enough for the spring. Also, i think there is alot of misinterpretation with the uses of the words bouncy and bumpy. bouncy is associated with blown shocks, or not stiff enough setting of a shock. and bumpy should be associated with a very firm shock/spring setting, where you will feel every tiny bump in the road. however, having a bumpy ride DOES NOT mean it's bouncy. so is my info right so far? i jus gotta have it cleared up
