Honda generally has excellent transmission life, IF THE FLUID IS CHANGED REGULARLY! We recommend EVERY 15K for autos, and ONLY with the Honda ATF... Honda used to recommend the same, but they are starting to change what the owner's manuals say. The auto tranny in my wife's 98 Sedan is working just great at 137,000 miles.
