That is what i used to do also, and on the really greasy parts spray an engine degreaser from yr autoparts store. Cover all electricals, dist cap, battery, your air filter (if its a cone), just use the water to spray off the simple green and the degreaser dont use it to wash the enitre engine bay, no reaseon to get it all wet in there. Dry it off with a towel and use the damp towel to clean the rest of the bay. Do it during the hottest time of the day and postition your engine bay to be under direct sunlight to all the sun to help dry the bay (areas you cant reach). Good luck
