probably b). you couldn't have put in the bright bulbs in without some type of mod to it, i.e. 9005 conversion. What type did you buy, regular halogens? or hyperwhite bulbs? To calibrate, there is a screw on the top near the headlights. Turn them and see which ways moves the beam down.
