Heh, ya, CAI and Short Ram just have different power bands. The short ram is better up top (above 6000rpm), the CAI is better everywhere else, in an accord, theoretically the CAI should be better, since it also has a little peaky curve around 4500-5500 of about 5-10hp (depending on the car). The colder air = better air is solely conditional, it is totally theorteical and assumes 100% Volumetric Efficiency, and no...your stock bolt-on accord has NO WHERE NEAR even 95%.....(probably around 80%). As for ways to improve it are things like the hondata heatshield gasket, Throttle body bypass, EGR disable (requires the reprogramming of the ECU however), among other things.
I'll try to locate the technical article on CAI vs. Short Ram. You'll find that a short ram with a heatshield will outperform a CAI any day of the week when it comes to a high-rev motor (not nescessarily a stock F block accord, more like the h22).
