Default Ls Vtec

I've never done much in the way of engine work. I've always been more of an electrical, audio type person. But, I've been hearing about how great the LS-VTEC combination works. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I know. I want to know what the rest of you honda-acura people know.

First of all, I drive a 1996 Acura Integra LS with 100K miles on it. It runs fine, no leaks. No engine work whatsoever yet.

From what I hear, you can buy a VTEC head and put this on my LS block. I know this also involves a new computer and that there are certain heads which will be a "direct bolt on". The advantages being that the LS has a better bottom end for torque and low end horsepower while the VTEC has more top end power? I know this will involve the buying of gaskets, but is this a possible job for me to do? Assuming I get the correct parts? Thanks. ANY links, pics, suggestions, are welcome. THanks.
