Men (sorry pre-pub dudes) have to shave everyday to avoid looking "scruffy" at work, or to make a good impression anywhere, anytime. Men don't hide behind make-up, what you see is what you get.
I've given up on trying to get a really good shave every morning. Just a quick once-over to minimize the stubble but then I get the lovely 5 o'clock shadow. If I spend the time to get a
close shave it lasts like two days, but I only bother with that if I have a date or something similar.
