I'm still in the early planning stages, and this was one of the options I considered (d16y8 w/ turbo kit).

Yeah, it _might_ go fast in a straight line... but we've got so many nice curvy roads here in New England

And I don't think the turbo would be as good for that application.

I think this sport attracts the impatient crowd (something about people that like going fast )

But if you can resist the urge, that 2+ grand for a turbo is a good start to saving to drop a nice motor in, which is what I think I'm going for (b18c1?) And then maybe down the road, after you've got your torque and acceleration nailed, and your suspension and breaks are worked, then maybe a turbo...
