In all seriousness, I guess you could have some truth behind that statement. It's definitely a rare situation.
We're not rabits, people don't generally get "scared" or "tricked" to death. Reason prevents that.
I don't know about reason working at all during dreams. I don't know about you, but I've dreamt and believed a lot of crazy shit that would never be possible in real life.
BTW, I heard that theory long ago about how one might die IRL if they died in their dreams. Ever seen Dreamscape?
