He doesn't need the brake anyway...if he stays under 40km/h, the hand brake works just fine. I would say the gas is the better place then.
easier? in your opinion, maybe.
i don't know about you, but i'd rather have to force gears than have no brakes. i doubt he'd get very far with only the e-brake.
