hey guys, meigs' lease has been up for a LONG time...they were basically living on borrowed time. while i think that it is TERRIBLY necessary to the way Chicago operates, i understand daley's views:
. too much pollution in-city
. a lot of wasted space for something thats not THAT heavily used.
. there are TWO other airports very near the city that can easily take the load.
. meigs' is old, it is not worth the upkeep costs on something that is more a convenience than anything.
. after 9-11 do you really think allowing aircraft that close to the city is a wise thing?
