Take it to the dealer and have them run a diagnostic on it. They'll charge and hour labor for it and let you know what the problem is.

The SRS indicator isn't supposed to come on unless a fault is detected and then to get it to turn off the dealer has to reset the system. If your SRS indicator is lit your system is disabled.
