The main reason the quoted stopping distance for the ITR is so much shorter than the GSR has nothing to do with the brakes at all. The GSR comes stock with crappy all-season tires while the ITR has high performance tires which are a lot stickier.
The rear brakes are identical on both cars.
The front brakes on the ITR have larger calipers and rotors.
For street driving a set of fresh rotors (slots or holes are unnecessary), high performance pads (I'm a Hawk HPS fan), stainless steel lines and good fluid (I like Ate Super Blue) will be more than sufficient.
