get a dremel. Gotta cut them open. It's relatively painless with the right tools. Don't spray tint the outside because they'll be chipped up in no time.
Yeah that's what I was thinking about using, but wasn't sure what to use when I put them back together. You're full of good idea's Matt! I might get a practice pair before working on the real thing.
