I DO NOT drive hard at all----this car is completely BABIED....I sometimes annoy passengers because I drive so slow...I dont beat on this engine at all; I dont think I have ever driven her past 70...this is not the culprit.
I do proper maintenance; I bring her in for almost every scheduled Honda notice (aside from small, inbetween "37 1/2 K" kind of nonsense, you know....)
I had a 94 EX Coupe before this one, and I dont recall if it felt as bad, fit and finish wise....my father still owns a 97 Special Edition Sedan out in Vegas, with about 50 or so K on the clock, and aside from the horrible vibration that four-banger gives off, the car seems pretty solid still.
really, maybe you just got a lemon. my parents have around 50k on their all that has been done is oil motor/atf and filter oil/air changes and they are fine.
from personal experience my 92Ex was not as nice as the 91 SE which was made in Japan. the waterpump on the 92 went at 45k, at 65k the a/c shit the bed, which meant a hole conversion to the new refrigerant, and i never got the overheating issue fixed which was supposedly solved the a/c fix. i sold it at 70k for my 95 EX.
