Regardless of what they teach you or "want you to do" decisions are constantly made on the fly and not always within "guidelines" it's a wartime situation and you are getting shot at...any means neccesary for the common good of your team members and your country.
Have you ever been shot at? I will safely assume the answer to that is "no." Please do not try and lecture me on what I would or wouldn't do in that situation.... you have NO IDEA.
