I've used Falken FK-451 on my ride - 215/40/18
It's a good tire especially in dry conditions and does fine in wet too. But note - I'm not much of a "spirited" driver....so I haven't realy pushed them to their limits. The noise level is low and ride comfort is alright.....only downside was, its a summer tire and therefore has 0% traction in snow.
The tread-wear on them is good, lasted me 20k or so.....the front 2 tires have camber wear on them now but the rear tires still have about 40% tread left on them....so I would say that each could last as long as 30k....with regualr rotation.
I'm planning on going with a full set of Kumho Ecsta 712 for this season 225/40/18....I've heard great reviews about them, and after extensive research they seem to be the best bang for buck and most suited for my application. I've a couple friends who use the Kumhos and the ride in their cars is comfy and quiet.
As long as it's for daily commute like me, then I'd highly recommend these tires for their value.
