I thought most hondas had the protector for 1st...so you cant shift to it unless you are going under a certain MPH....or at least my accord does. But dropping from 4th @90mph to 2nd would work 
rev limiters are made for accelerating, not downshifting...if you pop it into first or second doing 90, you're screwed.
