The thing is, I want a black grill. I don't know of any paint that will stick to aluminum or steel without chipping easily. My accord is black and I don't like the silver grills but the black ones are just subtle enough not to be ugly. I agree with you that the grills don't always look good but I think the black ones would be nice. I like the lower because they say it goes over stock and theirs no cutting or drilling so I can just take it off any time, and they are supposedly made from 18 guage, powder coated steel.
Sounds like the upper grill may be a piece of junk. Maybe I'll just get the lowers for now?
I'd do the DIY grill it would save a good bit of money. Maybe you could take it to a shop and have it painted professionally and it would hold better? :dunno:
