The "big ballers" use a timing light to set their ignition timing, and the stock timing increments are marked on the crank pulley. The white mark all by itself is TDC, the other three marks that are close together are stock timing +/- 2 degrees. Allign the middle of the three marks with the pointer on the block and tighten the distributer down. Done.
Inspyral is absolutely correct.....let the engine idle then set the timing light to 16 and turn the distributor until the center white mark is aligned as noted above
