first of all on the accord 17's look really small just opt the $$$ and get 18's at least. now onto the drop u'll have the same fender gap depending on how well u keep the stock measurements. however with the low profile tires the gap will appear to look like that of an SUV when in fact its not. i've seen many people in 5th gen accords with 17's and no drop and their car looks so jacked up off the ground. i was really glad i did my drop with my rim change (as welll as a few other mods) at the same time. since ur ride is new just get rims but nothing smaller than 17's
