I used to sell Honda's and Acura's and we used this as a bait to get new college grads in the door. I believe it is dealer specific, if we got a customer that SAID that they we're a reecent college grad then the sales manager would put on the price sheet that there was a "recent grad" rebate on there. The only thing that was, it was a bargaining tool. They can afford to appear to "give you" $500 or however much towards the purchase price. In reality, they are only lowering the "cushion" they have between the grand total price and the invoice price.(this amount depends on how much the dealership makes". sorry its bit lengthy, but I hope you catch my drift.
