$2 grand for a transmission rebuild is ludicrous.

Heh, nothing "wrong" with a turbo per se, just that it's so rare that people are sometimes a bit reluctant to see them modified up so much. I have somewhat of the same emotional reaction since I had the same car myself and thus far yours has been modified very carefully and tastefully.

If/when you do go turbo, please do it in the style of the mods that have been done to your car so far. Personally I think you should get the chassis nicely squared away which is going to take more money than you may be planning.
