The new Mercury Monterey will have a 4.2l V6 standard. It will pump out 201hp. That engine will be optional in the Ford Freestar. It makes like 265lb/ft of torque though (I'm not definate here, it's 265 or 245). I don't really consider any of this news. I mean we all knew a new Odyssey was coming, which obviously means new interior and exterior and most likely more power (260hp from MDX?). I mean, Nissan chose to only put 230hp in the Quest, and they seem set on having the highest HP, so no boost in power wouldn't be a big suprise to me. Chrysler may be the only company which will pass the Odyssey's 240hp, by offering the 250hp 3.5l V6. They're trying to crack down on overlap, so I wouldn't be suprised if the next minivans used the 2.4l Global I4, 2.7l V6 (replacing the 3.3), and the 3.5l V6 (replacing the 3.8).
