The Type R transmission is a hydro, and would require an adapter kit to work in a cable transmission car. That aside, the Type R and G2 GS-R transmissions are very similar in gearing, both being somewhat short for a turbo engine.

I agree with red.da, use a 90-93 RS/LS/GS transmission. Trade him for his, though I wouldn't mind having your transaxle for myself
