Thats the point. If that rod bearing decides to completely let go, that rod can now move farther than before, which could cause it to hit the valves/head. Happened to my roommate. The IN stamp on the piston left an impression in the head. Not to mention the fact that the money spent to make that b20 block reliable above 7500 rpm is much more than $500 or the cost of another b16 block.
