Sure theoretically, with DVDA you can get much better sound, but you gotta consider the car environment. Road noise and engine noise is one of them. Also, speaker quality is another. Even when DVDA can produce 20Hz-50kHz, if your paper cone speaker can't handle that range, then you won't hear that range. The third component is the power. There's no head unit that can output sufficent power. Which means they have to have at least one Amp in there. I'm just wondering if Acura will go all the way with it and have Speakers like the Boston Pro series to handle the sound and one or two amp to push those speakers. Or are they just have DVDA as a gimmic. I mean CD-A on a supperb system will sound better than DVDA on a crappy system, agree?
You are absolutely right. While I described the properties of the disc and software I also wanted to point this out, but I felt I was going a little long on my posts. While DVDA has the capability to reproduce the most accurate audio ever, the final output will depend on pre amp and amplifer quality, quality of wiring, and of course, speakers. If you skimp on any of those, DVDA is pretty much useless. And DVDA in a car can be almost as useless, as you pointed out, because of the road noise, wind noise, engine, and other vibrations that you don't have in your home. If you want to talk home audio, I can put a thread in the
Audio and Electronics forum.
