Really man, you're making it out to be more trouble than it really is. Just take your time and practice, that's what's going to make a difference. There isn't such a huge jump in my experience, it's just about nailing the right drop point & finding out which clutching method workd for you.

Some people like to sidestep it, some people feather off of it, whatever works for them. I'd be willing to bet that the method heavily depends on the RPM you're launching at.
