The first Honda car officially imported to the United States was the 1969 (Hawaii) or 1970 (Continental US) AZ600 and AN600, a pre-Civic hatchback and wagon if you will. They were both powered by a 600cc V-twin Honda motorcycle engine. I think the stock quarter mile time was around 22.25 seconds:chuckles: That was an extremely light car, too.

I have to admit though, putting a new motorcycle engine (or two) in a 5G frame would be interesting... to see if you could make the civic body break the AZ600's quarter mile record
