I have a 6th gen, but I have the same springs. I have 18x7.5 +45 and never rub. My buddy has the exact same setup only with +42...he rubs a little, but only with people in the back (and he has two 10s and a 1000w amp in the trunk).
Maybe someone with a 5th gen can help more specifically, but I'd say you're probably fine. +45 would be better, but I'm sure +42 will be fine.
I guess I should also ask what is the wheels size you are looking at.
Oh yeah, the wheel size is 18 x 7.5"
