I agree with AccordSleeper. Custom shops will be able to help you build a turbo that will meet your needs specifically (in this case, autocrossing). And with you living in CA, there shouldn't be any particular lack of those shops. Just find a reputable place to build one.

Another option if you have the cash is to use the H22A4 Prelude motor and then turbocharge that. Jackson Racing makes a turbocharger for it, but that entire setup plus installation can easily run you $6000-$7000.
