You got yourself a nice econbox engine there. I'm sure you could swap a D17A2(VTEC) head onto it and gain some power. This is refered to as a "mini-me" swap. You usually gain a good compression ratio bump(10.5~11:1) and VTEC.

Though the avaliblity of parts is prolly gonna scarse. Cost would be a factor also for such a new engine. Your basic I/H/E setup is gonna net you maybe 10~15hp....Not really worth it IMO. 7th gens also get the short-end of the stick when it comes to engine swaps. You can swap the K-series engine's into them(RSX/type-s/new Si), however thats kinda expensive as well.

The Greddy SOHC 92-95 SOHC turbo kit could prolly be adapted with relative ease if you want "bigger" power than what I/H/E is gonna give you....and then there is always "NOS".....
