well from experience when i blacked out my headlights a few weeks ago, i tried to take apart the the corners and ended up cracking them. i would just buy the jdm style ones off ebay, thats what im doing. obtw make sure you have plenty of time. it took me about 5-6 hours. nah the hairdryer won't work. just put them in an oven at about 250 for 5-7 minutes and take them out, pry them apart with a butter knife a little, then put them back in for another 2 minutes then take them back out and pry them the rest of the way. and be really careful some parts of the headlight are delicate. and then just tape what you don't want to paint with masking tape, and make sure you lean them forward when drying them so it won't run onto the reflector. make sure the tape is on there good too. i used some BBQ grill paint i bought at advanced auto parts for like 3.00 its flat black i think. it works good takes temps up to 1200 degrees. when you are done make sure you push them back together and then put them in the oven for about 4 minutes and then take them out and push them together the rest of the way and hold them like that for about a minute and then put the little metal clips back on. thats how i did it and so far no condensation (knock on wood). hope that helps.
